Ascend highlights the incomparable person and work of Jesus—his birth, life, death, resurrection, and return—paying particular attention to his victorious ascent from the grave, conquering sin, death, and evil. It is a celebration of the Jesus who, not only forgives sin in his death, but also starts a whole new creation in his resurrection life.

By musically tying these significant moments of Jesus’ life together, we the Church will be provoked to trust, obey, and worship the risen Christ. May you be enthralled by the specific “chapters” of his life and blown away by the breadth of his whole story. As you linger over his ascent to begin new creation, we pray that congregational and personal worship will pour forth.

Jonathan (M.Div, Th.M) is happy husband to Robie, and proud father to Owen, Ellie & Rosamund. He is also the lead pastor of City Life Church and a leader in The GCM Collective, PlantR and Gospel Centered Discipleship.com.
